Welcome to the Medical Informatics Interest Group Website!

Medical Informatics is a discipline that strives for the effective use and sharing of information in health care. It is inherently broad in scope, and encompasses such areas as electronic medical records, computerized decision support systems, standardized medical vocabularies, and regional health information organizations. The goals of our interest group are as follows.

  • Serve as a forum for discussion on the challenges facing the effective use and sharing of medical information
  • Foster collaboration between individuals and institutions interested in informatics research and applications
